All of us at Westcoast International Dental Clinic place our patients at the center of our attention, and focus on providing them with the best possible experience.
Dental Health Examination
During your initial dental consultation, your condition will be carefully assessed by our team of dentists and nurses. Our goal is to provide our patients with a complete evaluation to prevent future problems from developing.
The consultation includes:
- Current dental situation (fillings, crowns, veneers or other dental restorations)
- Dental occlusion (the contact between your teeth; how you bite)
- Diagnostic on mouth diseases, missing teeth or any signs of decay, tooth wear or bad brushing habits
- Gum health and the amount of bone surrounding each tooth
IV Sedation (Sleep Dentistry)
If the thought of having your teeth cleaned makes you uncomfortable, ask us about IV sedation, also called sleep dentistry. This optional approach is an easy solution for patients with pre-existing dental fears. The sedation process involves medication to eliminate the anxiety and induces a state of deep relaxation during the treatment. Though called sleep dentistry, you remain conscious and are still able to understand and respond to the questions from your dentist, but you will remember very little and feel no discomfort. For instance, patients who underwent IV sedation have reported that they do not recall or feel any part of the procedure, including numbing the teeth. During the first appointment, our sedation specialists will have a consultation to determine if you are suitable for this method. It is our care and dedication to you that sets us apart.
You can be assured that the X-rays taken at our clinic are safe. We are using the digital technology which exposes you to far less radiation than normal film X-rays. The radiography helps us to evaluate and diagnose various oral diseases and conditions of the tooth, root and jaw bone. X-rays are also suitable for children. TMJ imaging is also available for patients who may be experiencing problems or discomfort while eating or opening/closing the jaw.
If you want to improve your smile but are still hesitant, feel free to contact us for advice and to receive a free online dental consultation. We’ll need a full description of your inquiry, and if possible a copy of your previous scans and X-rays. Once your information has been reviewed we’ll be glad and able to provide you with a detailed quote.
