2025 marks the 10th anniversary of the Smile Art Contest, a creative playground for children aged 12 and under residing in Ho Chi Minh City.

The contest aims to ignite a passion for painting, nurture artistic creativity, and promote awareness of oral care, spreading smiles to all.

This year's theme: TIME TRAVEL TO THE PAST

Message:

Step into our time machine and journey through history with your smiling tooth friends! Capture a joyful smile from the past in your artwork, and don’t forget to include the year in your drawing!

• Travel back to prehistoric times, where dinosaurs roamed vast and majestic landscapes.
• Visit the era of the Hung Kings and join children in making traditional bánh chưng and bánh dày during spring festivals.
• Explore the world of mythology and meet Zeus, Poseidon, and Athena—gods of the sky, the ocean, and wisdom.
• Step into fairy tales and play in the snow with Elsa, attend the grand ball with Cinderella, or fly on a magic carpet with Aladdin.
• Relive family stories by illustrating treasured moments of gatherings and laughter shared through grandparents' and parents' stories.
• Recreate your own childhood, from joyful birthday parties to the first day of school and other cherished memories.

There are no limits to this journey! Let your imagination run free and bring the past to life through your creativity.

New features in this year’s contest:

• Handicrafts integration: Participants must incorporate at least three everyday materials, such as toothbrushes, dental floss, or recycled items.
• Diverse artwork formats: Accepted formats include paintings, sculptures, and 3D models. (Digital artworks are NOT accepted.)

Round 1: Submission Period (April 1–May 11, 2025)

- Take a clear photo of the artwork.
- Record a short video (under 2 minutes) showing the child creating the artwork and a photo of the child with the completed piece.
- Provide the following details:
   + Child’s full name and date of birth
   + Name of school/art center or parent’s name along with a contact phone number
   + Title of the submitted artwork and a short description (no more than 300 words)
- Submit the artwork, photos, and video along with the required details via:
   + Email: marketing@westcoastinternational.com (Preferred to maintain image and video quality.)
- Contest artworks will be posted every Tuesday and Friday on the Westcoast Fanpage.
- Share the artwork on Facebook with public visibility using the hashtags #SAC2025 #nhakhoaWestcoast.

Round 2: Final Round (May 12 – June 1, 2025)

- On May 12, the Organizing Committee (OC) will announce the Top 15 finalists.
- From May 12–May 16, finalists must submit their original artworks to the OC.
- Awards Ceremony: June 1, 2025, at Westcoast Dental Clinic (27 Nguyen Ba Lan, Thao Dien, Thu Duc City, HCMC).

- Relevance to theme (40%) – Captures the essence of “Time Travel to the Past.”

- Artistic quality (35%) – Demonstrates creativity and originality in material usage.

- Inspirational value (25%) – Conveys positive and meaningful messages.

- Note:

• Early submissions qualify for weekly prizes.
• An artwork that wins a weekly prize is not eligible for additional weekly awards.
• Final prizes will be awarded exclusively based on the jury’s evaluation.

Final Prizes:

• First Prize: VND8,000,000
• Second Prize: VND4,000,000
• Third Prize: VND3,000,000
• 15 Talented Artist Awards: Gifts worth VND500,000 each
• Best School/Center Award: Presented to the institution with the highest number of high-quality submissions

Weekly Prizes (April 1–May 11, 2025): Each weekly winner will receive a box of colored pencils, awarded based on jury evaluations and social media engagement.

- Participants may submit multiple artworks, with a maximum of one per week.

- Accepted materials: Watercolors, pencils, pastels, oil paints, or 3D models. (Note: Digital artworks are NOT accepted.)

- Must incorporate at least three everyday materials.

Submission deadline: May 11, 2025.

GENERAL RULES

• The Organizing Committee (OC) reserves the right to use submitted artworks and participant images for promotional purposes without compensation and for an indefinite period.
• If plagiarism, fraud, or prior participation in other contests is detected, the OC has the right to disqualify the artwork.
• In case of disputes, the OC’s decision is final.
