Before Surgery

All her teeth had to be removed.

Building a new smile is like building anything in which you want to do it right. It requires a proper design plan.

The orientation of the smile plane is determined by using devices and try ins to help predict what the final outcome will be like. We use a surgical guide that allows for precise placement of the planned dental implants. This allows for excellent accuracy and prevents damage to nearby sinuses and nerves.

After the implant and proposed teeth position is decided, we know what the smile will be like.

All-ON-4 Surgery Details

In suitable anatomical cases, a major advantage of the All-on-4 approach is its ability to maximize existing native bone. By placing the posterior implants at specific angles, our surgeons can often avoid vital structures and minimize the need for extensive bone grafting procedures. Placing implants also helps preserve jawbone volume, which naturally resorbs after natural teeth are lost.

In selected cases where adequate primary stability is achieved at surgery, an immediate provisional (temporary) restoration may be fitted to preserve aesthetics and speech during early healing. However, immediate provisional loading is strictly stability-dependent and is not suitable for every clinical situation, particularly if extensive staged reconstruction is required.

These photographs show our patient one day after implant surgery. Post-operative experiences vary between patients, and temporary swelling, soreness, or mild discomfort may occur after treatment. For this patient’s individualized treatment plan, we designed a precision-fitted removable upper overdenture anchored securely onto the implants, providing excellent retention and lip support, while protecting the implants during the initial integration phase.

At Westcoast, we checked and rechecked with our dental technician team in order to proceed with completion. The fit of each restoration is reviewed by the clinical and laboratory teams before final placement.

For the lower arch, a zirconia full-arch restoration was selected based on the restorative requirements of this case. Like all dental restorations, its long-term performance depends on factors such as design, bite forces, oral hygiene and ongoing maintenance.
